Suryadatta Organises ‘Arogya Bharati – Charan Seva’ Healthcare Camp for Warkari Pilgrims
Over 250 Warkaris Benefit from Physiotherapy, Health Check-ups, Pharmacy Services and Wellness Guidance During Ashadhi Wari
Pune: Demonstrating its commitment to community welfare and healthcare outreach, Suryadatta Institute of Health Sciences – College of Physiotherapy (SIHS COP) and Suryadatta College of Pharmacy, Healthcare & Research (SCPHR), in association with the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Cell, organised the “Arogya Bharati – Charan Seva” healthcare camp for Warkari pilgrims during the Ashadhi Wari at Nana Peth, Pune.
More than 250 Warkari devotees received comprehensive healthcare services, including physiotherapy treatment, medical check-ups, foot care, medicines, health counselling and preventive healthcare guidance.
The initiative, inspired by Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President of Suryadatta Education Foundation, was organised as a social service initiative on the occasion of his birthday. Led by Dr. Simi Retherkar and Dr. Sarika Zambad, the camp focused on addressing the physical challenges faced by pilgrims undertaking the long spiritual journey on foot.
Students and faculty from the College of Physiotherapy provided pain management, soft tissue therapy, joint mobilisation, stretching and strengthening exercises, posture correction, gait training, kinesio taping, injury prevention advice and rehabilitation guidance. Simultaneously, the College of Pharmacy team offered primary healthcare, medicines, foot massage, health counselling and essential medical assistance.
Appreciating the initiative, Warkari devotees expressed gratitude for the timely healthcare support, while community representatives commended Suryadatta’s continued commitment to social responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya said, “The Ashadhi Wari is a celebration of service, dedication and humanity. Through ‘Arogya Bharati – Charan Seva’, our students transformed their academic knowledge into meaningful service, reinforcing our belief that ‘Service to Humanity is Service to God.'”
The initiative reflects Suryadatta’s mission of integrating Values, Culture and Education while nurturing socially responsible healthcare professionals dedicated to community welfare.
