Emcure Pharma Industrial visit of Pharmacy Students

Second Year B. Pharmacy Students from SEF’s Suryadatta College of Pharmacy Healthcare and Research recently visited Emcure Pharma on Thursday 12 th Sep. 2024, a leading pharmaceutical company, to gain valuable insights into the industry. Accompanied by Principal Dr. Hemant Jain and faculty members Dr. Shubhangi Pawar and Mrs. Ashwini Bhosale, the visit provided an excellent opportunity for hands-on learning. The day began with an informative presentation by Mr. Bhushan Ahire from the HR department, who outlined the company’s history, mission, and commitment to innovation in healthcare.

Joining him were key members of the Emcure team, Mr. Om Nanda, QA, Mrs. Chandra Kumar, HR Head, OSD unit. Students were engaged and eager to learn about the various departments and processes that contribute to the development of pharmaceutical products. Principal Dr. Hemant Jain remarked, “Such visits are crucial for students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world applications. It broadens their understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape.”

Students toured key facilities, including research and development, quality control, and manufacturing units. This exposure allowed them to witness the rigorous processes involved in ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products.

The visit concluded with an interactive A session, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals, discussing career paths and the future of pharmaceuticals. This visit aligns with SEF’s Suryadatta College of Pharmacy’s commitment to enhancing students & educational experiences through practical exposure and collaboration with different industries.

The industrial visit was a remarkable educational experience for the students, offering them valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry, from raw material handling to the finished product’s market availability. It was a significant  opportunity for practical learning and professional development.

Suryadatta D Pharma students Industrial visit to Nuliife at PCMC

Suryadatta college of Pharmacy, Healthcare and Research Pune’s industrial visit was organized for the students recently. Taking advantage of this golden opportunity, all the students of the diploma program became a part of this exciting visit. This activity was part if Industry institute interface program .
with the goal of inspiring knowledge and exposure to the actual functioning of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as providing conceptual clarity of the working pattern of the pharmaceutical supply chain organisation with Carry and Forward (C &F). Taking advantage of this wonderful chance, all SCPHR diploma course students participated in this fascinating visit.

The journey began at the renowned NuLife Pharmaceuticals company in Pimpri, Pune. Mr. Prashant Saste , assistant manager of NuLife Pharmaceuticals, greeted faculty and students from Suryadatta College of Pharmacy, Healthcare, and Research. Mr. Akshay Warke from the Quality Assurance Department met with students and instructors to discuss pharmaceutical business paperwork and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The students visited various departments such as raw material storage, R&D, QC, QA, production, filling and sealing, printing, labeling, packaging, finished goods storage units, and so on for liquid, capsule, tablet, eye drops, ear drops, and creams/ointments dosage forms for allopathic and ayurvedic formulations.

In the following session, students went to Parekh Imperial Logistics LLP in Uruli Devachi, Pune. Mr. Sunil Parekh, the firm’s owner, walked pupils through the concept and arrangement of the areas where C and F function. Mr. Sunny Gawade walked students through various company- specific storage departments, a special cold storage facility, the proper disposal of expired and broken medicines, and how to handle and operate machinery safely. Students along with staff members Dr. Sarika Zambad , Dr. Deepak Patil (HOD- diploma in pharmacy) , Mrs. Shradhha Phatak , Ms. Snehal Kadam, Ms. Komal Pardeshi were present for the visit.

Students learned Proper production practices in the pharmaceutical sector, Process raw materials and formulate solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms, 3. Conduct quality control and evaluation tests , Understanding the pharmaceutical layout structure, Various analytical methods for testing raw materials and finished products, SOPs for calibrating and operating various analytical instruments, Analysed samples were processed using different software, Storage needs for raw materials and completed products, Manpower required for various departments , Learn about dose forms, storage conditions, and packaging for cold storage products, Understanding supply chain management in the pharmaceutical business, Resources needed for efficient distribution of medicinal items , Supply chain partners play an important role in pharmaceutical distribution.

In addition Mr. Prasanna K Patil , President- Pune district FMCG dealers association and Lions Club of Pune Lotus encouraged and guided diploma students. Professor Dr Sanjay B Chordiya, Founder President and Chairman , Suryadatta Education Foundation, Pune said , the Institute organises Industrial Visits for students to give them current updates on the industrial profession as well as understanding of new modern techniques used in industries. Students have visited a reputable pharmaceutical firm, which helps to generate unique ideas for research.
